Tourists are permited to enter the World Heritage Site in two slots on a daily basis They are provided with a window and handed over their respective e-tickets by adhering to standard operational procedure of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
During the morning slot, only 1,200 visitors are allowed whereas 1,300 tourists can enter in the afeternoon slot. An average of 5,000 tourists visit the monument daily prior to the lockdown in March.
